How Money Works in The Third Deal™
Money isn’t the promise we receive from God. It is one of the tools God gives us to steward.
To understand money, means to understand God first. His Purpose, His Plan, His People and His Promise.
When we do that we root ourselves in God first. Where money or profit is His results of us rooting our life in God.
The Third Deal™ isn’t about chasing wealth, status, or “winning” at business. It’s about being His steward of Goodwill.
Rooting ourselves with God’s purpose, God’s plan, and the people He’s trusted us with.
That has to include how we handle every single dollar.
Money is not the reward. It is a sacred responsibility
For most of my life, money was the distant finish line. Hit the magic number. Close that big deal.
I was willing to push hard and step over and on people to get there.
God forgave and saved me from becoming someone I prayed I would never become.
Today, I don’t see money as proof that I’m blessed. I see it as a sacred responsibility:
To care for my family.
To fund the work God put in my hands.
To bless people who are asked to quietly carry heavy burdens.
If love is the promise, then money is just one of the ways we deliver that promise.
Every Dollar Has a Job After Costs Are Paid
When you buy The Third Deal or anything connected to this work, I want you to know something simple:
After direct costs are paid, every dollar is intentionally assigned.
It doesn't just "go to Ruben."
Here is the basic framework I use to think about post-cost dollars:
1. His People - Giving and Support
1/3 of every dollar is set aside to support people and causes that reflect God’s heart:
Charitable for people in need.
Support for ministries, community work, and local impact that honors God and His People.
Quiet acts of generosity that will never make our PR releases and Marketing Channels.
2. His Plan - The Work Itself
1/3 of every dollar is reinvested back into the mission:
Building and maintaining The Third Deal™ Foundation and tools.
Covering the cost of apps, platforms, and resources that help people serve the mission.
Printing, tech, design, and the silent back end that keeps this mission on track.
3. My Household - An honest blessing
The remaining portion goes where Scripture is very clear it should:
Providing for my family.
Covering our basic needs and responsibilities.
Giving me the margin to keep doing this work.
What This Means When You Buy the Book
You are investing in The Third Deal™
Whether it’s a preorder, a book, an audiobook, or a digital copy, you’re not just buying content.
You are doing three things at once:
You are investing in His People
You are investing in His Plan
You are investing in His Purpose
Your gesture of Love helps deliver His Promise to the world.
I want this to be simple and rooted in Truth. This is how I see money in His Purpose being used.
What I believe God expects of me.
How The Third Deal™ should shape every dollar as it passes through my hands.
God bless,
Ruben Barrera
